Confidence, Body Positivity & What It Really Means to Be Healthy
Think of this gathering as book club meets wine club meets women's power circle. This month, we will be discussing how our relationships with our bodies and health affect our daily lives with executive wellbeing coach Sarah Hodges.
This is a super special Ladies Night for me because in addition to her impressive bio, Sarah is my executive wellbeing coach. Just like with the Diversity & Authenticity Harvard Business Review article last month, this is going to be real talk, y'all.
A little background: We believe that when you get smart, ambitious women together talking about their lives, magic happens. So we create the space for meaningful conversation, invite the most dynamic women we know, and let the conversation (and wine) flow.
Wednesday, July 25 - 6:30-9 PM @ Bond Collective 55 Broadway
55 BROADWAY, 3RD FLOOR
NEW YORK, NY 10006
Do I need to read anything ahead of time?
No! Just come open to talking about how your relationship to your body and physical health affects your daily life. This video of Sarah being interviewed about body positivity by former Miss America Kirsten Haglund on BoldTV is really good one though!
Is there a formal discussion?
We like to keep it casual so there isn't a "formal" talk given at the event, it's more of a discussion. This time I will start off by asking Sarah a few questions about her own transformational journey in her relationship with her body and health to get the conversation started. (You can also just listen if that is more your jam.)
Can I invite friends/colleagues?
YES! The more the merrier - until we run out of space of course.
Is there a cap on attendance?
This event will be intentionally intimate in size but we hope that you will reach out to a few folks in your network who might enjoy this type of conversation and ask them to join the fun!
Sarah Hodges, Executive Wellbeing Coach, is the founder & CEO of Innerform™ and Beautiful Shame™. Her passion for helping people thrive, optimize, and flourish in their lives began with her personal struggle with obesity and depression as a professional musician and opera singer.
After losing 90 lbs and transforming her life, Sarah passionately began educating herself on the body, mind, and spirit. She soon learned that positive life changes are the result of body awareness, self-compassion, self-love, and a bare-minimum approach to goal setting. With this methodology in mind, Sarah developed the Innerform A+ Method™, a four-step feedback loop designed to guide clients on their own personal path to wellbeing.
Sarah’s unique coaching approach is inspired from her extensive and varied education. Most recently, she has received brain-based, executive Life Coaching training through the Neuroleadership Institute. In addition, Sarah is a Certified Health Coach through the American Counsel on Exercise, a NASM Senior Fitness Specialist and Personal Trainer, and she’s certified in Z-Health Essentials of Elite Performance. Sarah has also studied vigorously under the guidance of world-renowned French Osteopath Dr. Guy Voyer and his SomaTraining program based on the study of Bio-Mechanics. Through this program, she obtained certifications in methods such as Advanced Circulatory and Respiratory Techniques, ELDOA (Longitudinal Osteo-Articular Decoaptation of the Spine), Segmental Strengthening, Gravity Line, Cardiovascular Conditioning Techniques, Myofascial Stretching, and Proprioception and Awareness.
After coaching numerous clients from ages 6 to 91 to discover intrinsic motivation to live their best lives, Sarah is bringing her radical message to a larger audience. Her message of self-love and self-compassion offers a fresh perspective on what it means to be well, and soon it will be available in written form, as Sarah continues working on her upcoming book.
